Our Goals
Anonymous Angels has three main objectives, namely, engaging in partnership with the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE), advocating and spreading awareness within the school and broader community, and providing online support for survivors.
Through partnering with SACE, Anonymous Angels is committed to providing stuffed animals, friendship bracelets, and engraved stones for survivors who access counselling through the centre. The purpose of stuffed animals are to provide a soft, comforting touch, to those who need support. In the same way that friendship bracelets are symbolic of uniting two or more friends, these handmade bracelets are symbolic in uniting survivors throughout Edmonton. Volunteers generously donate their time to craft these unique bracelets along with a brief note of support attached to it. We will be offering the above goods at no charge to survivors, as a token of our support; with love and compassion.
In addition, we hope to offer assistance in connecting survivors to appropriate support. We hope to engage with the school community by connecting with leadership teams and programs to amplify volunteer support in operations related to Anonymous Angels. Lastly, we wish to provide a scholarship annually, to multiple high school students who have experienced sexual violence.
It is more common than not that survivors of sexual violence often feel isolated and alone. Our last objective is to provide a monitored website where survivors are able to interact with one another anonymously. We believe in uniting survivors in this way, in hopes of decreasing feelings of isolation. By closely monitoring website activity, survivors will be able to connect with other survivors in a safe and private space. By maintaining a strong social media presence, we seek to spread awareness on the topic of sexual violence. Through doing so, we seek to connect with both survivors as well as the greater community.
